What is a molten pool? What is a weld?

 

Weld pool and weld usually refer to the same product, which are named in different ways according to different positions.

 

The upper part is called weld and the lower part is called weld pool.

 

During stud welding, the longer the welding time is, the larger the weld pool will be because of the melting of the front end of the stud and the surface of the base metal, and the forming of the weld joint through the external pressure extrusion.

 

The role of weld pool / weld is to improve the strength of stud welding.

 

According to different welding methods, the shape and depth of weld pool are different.
